Mr. John Cooley – Executive Principal – EtonHouse Schools, Singapore
Mr. John Cooley, currently the Executive Principal of EtonHouse Schools - Singapore was formerly the Head of Junior School at Blue Mountains Grammar School in New South Wales, Australia. He was a member of the National Executive of the Junior Schools Heads Association of Australia from 2000-2002 and more recently, Chairman of the Heads of Independent Co-educational Schools of New South Wales. Mr. Cooley also worked in senior teaching positions at The Cranbrook School in Sydney and with the New South Wales Department of Education.
Dr. Paul Lieblich – Executive Principal – China
Dr. Paul Lieblich is an experienced and accomplished educator. After graduating with a Master of Education from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA he taught in elementary and middle schools for eight years and then went on to earn his doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Interestingly, his doctoral dissertation was on the Role of the Principal in Sustaining Educational Innovations. Mr. Lieblich moved into principalship and school management with appointments in the US, Greece, Holland, Switzerland and the Bahamas. He is a respected personality in the International Baccalaureate (IB) community having co-founded and co-authored the Primary Years Program of the IB.
Ms. Heather Conroy – Executive Director of Pedagogy
Ms. Heather Conroy is an early childhood educator who has worked for six years as a Teacher Educator in Singapore. She has previously lectured in curriculum; child development and leadership at the University of Southern Queensland and worked for 15 years as an administrator and curriculum advisor with the community based sector in Queensland, Australia. Ms. Conroy's current position involves curriculum development and pedagogy as well as direct classroom support to teachers in EtonHouse classrooms and enable integrated learning and documentation of children's education and development.
Ms. Karen Nicholls – Project Director
Ms. Karen Nicholls has extensive experience working with EtonHouse International Schools since 2001. Prior to her current role, she was the Pre-School Director at EtonHouse Newton, the first stand-alone pre-school in Singapore to get the IB authorisation status. Ms. Nicholls holds a Master of Education degree from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. She is experienced in teaching a variety of age groups from pre-school through to Primary level and has been part of the learning support team in a several schools. More recently, she received training from the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) as part of the EtonHouse Programme to attain IB accreditation.
Ms. Susan Whitaker – Academic Consultant
Ms. Susan Whitaker has worked as an early childhood educator for over 30 years. She is currently the academic consultant at EtonHouse. Formerly, she was the Director of a large community-based early childhood education provider, offering leadership around all issues relating to the provision of high quality programs and services to children. She has also headed a team of early childhood educators who acted as mentors and advisors to over 300 pre-schools in the state of Queensland.
Ms. Anne Van Dam – Senior Pre-School Director
Ms. Anne Van Dam has been teaching for over 17 years in schools in Rotterdam, Shanghai and Singapore. Since 2003, she has taken on various leadership positions, combining teaching with coordinators responsibilities. Ms. Van Dam was formerly with the Canadian International School where she was part of the team that took the school to IB authorization in 2005. Under her leadership, the EtonHouse Pre-School at Orchard Boulevard received the IB World School authorization status. She is also an IB trainer since 2005, sharing her passion for children with educators in IB schools all over Southeast Asia.
